My Story
My name is Ashley Nicole Morales, I have a B.A. in Psychology and a Minor in Journalism from the University of Arizona. I’m a BJP graduate student, part of the 1st cohort. Additionally, I’m a registered behavioral technician (therapist) for children with autism.
I grew up in Nogales, Arizona bordering Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. I define myself as a Latina, orgullosamente Mexicana.
Some of my interests are investigative journalism and bringing awareness to mental health issues.
I believe that my degree in psychology has supplemented my pursuit of bilingual journalism as there is a psychological impact on individuals’ perception of what information they are receiving, especially amongst underrepresented groups.
In the near future, I will continue my academic endeavors of completing my second master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis in pursuit of becoming a BCBA.
